Dr. Jacinda Ripley is Assistant Professor of Trumpet at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. Prior to joining Tarleton State, she held collegiate teaching positions at Saginaw Valley State University, Alma College, The University of Olivet, and Saint Xavier University.

An active performer, Dr. Ripley has appeared with the Dallas Winds, Lansing, Battle Creek, and Flint Symphony Orchestras, and was selected as a trumpet fellow for the National Orchestral Institute in 2022. 

Jacinda is an advocate for new music; she has been involved with consortia for new works for trumpet and piano by composers Katahj Copley, Eris DeJarnett, Gala Flagello, and Marcus Grant.

In addition to maintaining a thriving studio, Dr. Ripley has presented masterclasses and clinics at universities across the United States. She has presented at the International Women’s Brass Conference, serves on the editing team for the International Women’s Brass Conference Noteworthy Newsletter, and is the Prelude Coordinator and Conference Reporter for the International Trumpet Guild.

Jacinda earned her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Michigan State University, a Master of Music in Performance from Northwestern University, and a Bachelor of Music in Performance from the Eastman School of Music. Her principal teachers include Justin Emerich, Robert Sullivan, James Thompson, and Leah Schuman.
