As an educator, my philosophy is to teach my students how to become the best versions of themselves while cultivating them into well-rounded and productive individuals. This occurs through developing solid fundamentals and developing the discipline to methodically utilize them to achieve larger musical goals. My method of teaching guides the student to a solution rather than simply presenting the answer. Through asking questions students will develop a process of finding solutions that work for them. While it is important for students to learn the classic, standard repertoire, I encourage my students to also look for new or less common music, and to constantly expand their musical palate.
